Welcome to the Premier Edition

Think of your first client newsletter like a first date: You want to make a good impression. Maybe one with a little intrigue too… Did you know the average U.S. job opening attracts 250 applicants? In today’s competitive hiring landscape, finding those standout candidates who elevate your business feels a bit like finding a needle in a haystack.

That’s where expert hiring practices, paired with strategic staffing partnerships, can change everything. In our first edition, we’re digging deeper into one of the secrets to hiring success. We’re focusing on building exceptional employer-candidate relationships.

Tips for Building Powerful Employer-Candidate Relationships

In the war for talent, mutual respect and open communication form the backbone of effective hiring. To develop robust ties with top candidates, remember these fundamentals:

  • Craft Compelling Descriptions: Vague or uninspiring job listings waste both your time and a potential applicant’s. Highlight your company culture. Highlight the role’s unique benefits. Explain how the position contributes to the overall organization. Abel Personnel can assist in crafting engaging job descriptions to attract the ideal candidates.
  • Be a Responsive Champion: Top candidates often receive multiple offers. A speedy and thorough hiring process keeps interest high and creates a positive first impression of your company’s work style. Abel Personnel shortens the hiring cycle by pre-screening qualified candidates. This helps you act quickly and decisively within a competitive market.
  • Provide Constructive Feedback: Even candidates who don’t make the cut deserve feedback. This is about respect and reputation – take the time to offer meaningful guidance to help them improve. It makes a good impression and might bring them back stronger for a future opportunity. Abel Personnel can help manage candidate communication, ensuring timely and professional feedback throughout the process.

Employee Spotlight: Ian Murphy’s Journey of Personal Growth

Ian Murphy’s journey with Abel Personnel began during a challenging time. Having found himself unemployed due to COVID-19, he was determined to break the cycle of negativity by returning to school and completing his degree at a local college. It was there that he met Melissa, a connection that would prove to be life-changing.

Melissa’s unwavering support and guidance helped Ian navigate the job market and land his first assignment as an executive assistant at a local nonprofit. Despite the organization’s financial constraints, he laid the groundwork for a major digitization project, developing new skills and forging meaningful relationships along the way.

Now, as a Compliance Officer, Ian continues to make strides. He has created Excel templates to streamline departmental processes and tackle paperwork backlogs. When faced with uncertainty, he found reassurance in Melissa’s constant support and advocacy.

Ian’s story is a testament to the power of resilience, personal growth, and the invaluable role that supportive allies can play in one’s professional journey. Abel Personnel’s impact on his life, as he puts it, “cannot be overstated.”

Modern Security Tips: Phishing

With evolving threats, staying vigilant in the digital space is crucial. Whether you are tech savvy or tech phobic, you are a target. According to IBM, Phishing remains the most common and expensive attack vector. It costs an average of $4.9 million per incident.

So far this year, we saw:

  • Outside emails pretending to be internal and Microsoft
  • Chainalysis released new numbers from its annual crime report. The report indicated ransomware payments exceeded $1.1 billion in 2023 (Source: Wired).
  • Cloudflare Suffers Breach After Failing to Rotate Stolen Okta Credentials (Source: Click Here)

This has been an ongoing issue. Remember, all external emails will announce in the header that they are external. No internal staff will ever send contact from external systems. Microsoft will never email you to warn you about an expiring password. No legal entity will request payment to relinquish control of your computer. Do not click links from unknown senders!

Microsoft has a fantastic guide on preventing phishing incidents. It also explains what to do if an attack has already occurred. ➡️Click here to view it.
