Are you a dedicated safety professional with a strong background in industrial hygiene? Join the Pennsylvania Office of Administration as a Health and Safety Specialist and help create safer workplaces across Commonwealth agencies. This is a dynamic role offering telework flexibility, travel throughout Pennsylvania, and the chance to lead impactful safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Industrial Hygiene & Investigations: Conduct investigations, prepare detailed reports, and deliver training on industrial hygiene across various agencies.
- Safety Compliance & Audits: Perform workplace safety audits, hazard assessments, and ensure compliance with the Accident and Illness Prevention Program (AIPP).
- Training Development: Create and deliver in-person or webinar-based health and safety training for Commonwealth agencies.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze injury trends, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions through technical reports.
- Leadership: Supervise and support on-site safety professionals while collaborating with agency stakeholders.
- Client Support: Build strong relationships with agency personnel and provide exceptional customer service to foster a proactive safety culture.
Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 5 years in industrial hygiene and/or occupational safety.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health (or related field), OR any bachelor’s degree with PA L&I BWC AIPP qualification.
- Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Additional Requirements:
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel statewide, including locations without public transport.
- Ability to pass a Pennsylvania Department of Corrections background check.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and computer-based work.
