Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Action Plan Implementation: Utilize the DCNR action plan to set key deadlines, assign responsibilities, and track progress.
- Worksite Inspections: Conduct worksite safety inspections primarily in eastern Pennsylvania, ensuring compliance with DCNR safety protocols.
- Health and Safety Training: Develop and deliver effective safety training programs to DCNR staff, in-person or via webinar. Adapt existing materials or create new content as needed.
- Safety Audits & Assessments: Perform hazard identification inspections, incident investigations, and AIPP reviews in line with DCNR’s Accident and Illness Prevention Program (AIPP).
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze safety data to identify trends, recommend corrective actions, and create detailed reports for DCNR management.
- On-Site Support: Provide independent safety support at DCNR worksites, ensuring alignment with safety standards.
- Client Engagement: Build strong relationships with all levels of DCNR personnel to foster a proactive safety culture through excellent customer service and follow-up.
- Travel: Travel across the state for safety inspections and training sessions (approximately 50% in summer, less in winter; overall ~20%). Overnight travel is rare.
Qualifications:
- AIPP certification or working towards certification with at least two years of occupational safety experience, or an AIPP certification with less than two years of safety experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with employees at all levels.
- Flexibility and adaptability to client needs, and the ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in health and safety inspections, incident investigations, and delivering training programs.
- Excellent report writing and analytical skills for safety data review and recommendations.
