Home Retention Counselor I – Bilingual (Spanish/English) | Temp-to-Perm Opportunity
Location: Harrisburg, PA (Hybrid – 3 days in-office)

Abel Personnel is supporting our client in their search for a Bilingual (Spanish/English) Home Retention Counselor I to assist homeowners in exploring loss mitigation options. This temp-to-perm opportunity is ideal for someone with 0-2 years of experience in customer service, financial services, or collections who is looking to build a career in mortgage servicing.
Responsibilities
- Manage an auto queue of Non-FHA and FHA loans that are 15-60 days delinquent
- Make 160+ calls per day to borrowers, explaining payment and loss mitigation options
- Document all activities and update borrower information in the system
- Send emails and letters encouraging borrower engagement
- Respond to voicemails and assist with NSF (non-sufficient funds) cases
- Provide bilingual support in Spanish and English, including translating letters and emails
- Research and update borrower contact information as needed
- Work one evening per week (10:30 AM – 7 PM)
Qualifications
- Fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written)
- 0-2 years of experience in collections, customer service, or financial services
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Ability to handle a high-volume call environment with professionalism
- Detail-oriented with excellent documentation skills
