Harrisburg, PA law firm  is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant. Areas of relevant experience are Personal Injury, Corporate, Orphans Court, Landlord/Tenant, and Real Estate. 
 
Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant Duties and Responsibilities include:
  1. Prepare/draft and file court documents, such as petitions, pleadings and motions 
  2. Manage and organize case files, including summarizing and indexing documents
  3. Legal research
  4. Monitor/calendar and track court deadlines and filings
  5. Communicate with opposing counsel, clients, court personnel, and other parties as needed
  6. Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials and other legal proceedings
  7. Prepare and respond to discovery 
  8. Assist in pre-litigation case resolution 
  9. Provide administrative support to attorneys, including but not limited to scheduling appointments, digital transcription and maintaining calendars
Litigation Paralegal Requirements and Qualifications include: 
  1. Bachelor’s/Associate’s degree in paralegal studies or related field 
  2. 5+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal, some personal injury experience preferred including but not limited to knowledge of Medicare reporting and the Medicare Portal)
  3. Familiarity with federal, state and local rules of civil procedure and electronic filing
  4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal software
  5. Excellent organizational and communication skills
  6. Knowledge of court rules and procedures 
  7. Ability to work independently and efficiently, remain calm in stressful situations and multitask
